About the Event

Seasonal Yin Workshops with Dawn Savoie

Each 2-hour workshop, consisting of Yin & Restorative Yoga and Reiki energy healing, is designed to help support your mind, body, and spirit through the shifts and changes each season brings.  Yin Yoga is a slow, floor-based style of yoga that targets our connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, joints) by holding simple postures for extended periods, promoting flexibility and release.  Restorative Yoga requires no effort, only to surrender into meditative stillness, in preparation for an extended Savasana (final resting pose).  Throughout the workshop you’ll receive Reiki, a Japanese healing technique that involves gentle touch to promote relaxation and reduce stress and anxiety.

Attendees are encouraged to bring props to assist with the poses – bolster or firm pillow, blanket, yoga mat and blocks.

Investment for each workshop - $44, attendees will receive a specially curated gift bag to help support their healing journey.

“YIN”-to Spring Workshop – March 22nd, 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Planting Seeds.  Yin yoga for Spring focuses on renewal, detoxification, and expansion, targeting the liver and gallbladder meridians, also known as the Wood element in Traditional Chinese Medicine.  The Yin poses will help to release Winter stagnation and support growth that comes with the beginning of Spring.

“YIN”-to Summer Workshop – June 21st, 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Calming the Flames.  Yin yoga for Summer focuses on cooling, grounding, and balancing the body’s increased fire energy using long-held, passive poses (3-5 minutes) that target the heart and small intestine meridians, also known as the Fire element in Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Deep stretches for the front body will be incorporated to help open the heart while promoting rest and emotional equilibrium amidst summer’s intensity.

“YIN”-to Autumn Workshop – September 20th, 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Preparing the Harvest. Yin yoga for Autumn focuses on releasing and letting go of what no longer serves us, targeting the lung and large intestine meridians.  This time of year, in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is associated with the Earth element (late Summer) as well as the Metal element (Autumn).  Passive poses will foster grounding and introspection, encouraging us to shift towards inner awareness, mirroring nature’s shedding of the leaves.

“YIN”-to Winter Workshop – December 20th, 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Deep Rest.  Yin yoga for Winter focuses on coming into stillness and supporting inner balance.  Winter is associated with the Water element in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and passive, forward folding postures targeting the kidney and urinary bladder meridians help us to mirror this time of quiet reflection and deep relaxation while reducing stress and providing immune support.
